𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚

preternaturally is a supernatural community set in new york city. we're hoping to fill the supernatural community void with plenty of community wide plots, events, ffas, and are always open to suggestions if there is anything you would like to see or participate in. we want this to be a collaborative place to develop your characters!

basics

we know that people have been around for awhile and should be well acquainted with the usual rules of rp: no crossing of ic/ooc lines (harrassment of any kind will result in removal with no explanation required from the mods), no godmodding, no outside apps to keep everything journal centric. anything that might be triggering to other writers or nsfw should be marked as such and put behind a cut.

please reach out to the mods if you have any issues or questions - we are always happy to help and want to ensure this is a safe environment in a world where non-sol has had some issues in the past. your comfort as writers is our top priority and we will happily discuss things in a custom just for you to avoid the people who track screened posts.

we are only allowing the species mentioned in our lore page at this time. we are not allowing any hybrids (i.e. no half witch, half werewolf, etc.) for the sake of keeping species lore consistent and simple. we are not allowing characters who are actually or based on historical figures (no anastasia romanovs, sorry) or characters who are based on folkloric figures (no baba yagas, either).

to apply, you will need the following:

an ic or ooc journal with no extra numbers or underscores
a backdated (don't clog the fp!) friends only and ooc post
the ooc post should contain a bio with, at minimum: character name (and/or alias), age, species, occupation, and at least some overview of their history/personality (this doesn't need to be in depth, we know it can take a second to get used to a character, but we want at least a sense of what you have in mind for your character)

played-bys we won't be adhering to the 5 year rule here, since we're dealing with species that live for hundreds of years, but don't be too loose with this. bella hadid for a 280 year old werewolf isn't going to fly!

a deleted application means you have been rejected. we reserve the right to not answer questions about rejections.

to prevent pestering from non-members, we suggest locking your friends only and ooc, as well as setting comments to friends only, but this is not required.

applying

activity

introductions should be posted within 3 days / 72 hours of acceptance and you will need to reply to all/most of the comments for it to count, or you will be removed with the next set of adds.

we will require one substantial (we repeat: substantial, don't post a singular instagram post and think that covers it) update per month - we don't care what sort of update, so long as it shows some effort on your part. we will also be keeping an eye out for interaction with other members; we won't officially be requiring links to interaction or anything like that, but if we notice you update every month and never interact with other members, you will receive a warning that could result in removal if not fixed. if you were added after the 16th of the month, your only update requirement is your introduction.

member run plots will need to be approved by the mod team to avoid it feeling like one character has taken over the entire comm. we plan to introduce monthly mod led plots and ffas that range from small to long lasting, so you won't be hurting for development and interaction!

please do not use noembed on your profile, so we can make sure your friends lists are up to date. an fl that is 2 weeks out of date will result in removal.

at this time we are only allowing 2 characters per writer (this may bump up in the future if the community grows) and we ask that you disclose to the mods who your other character is for the sake of keeping track of plotlines and limits. you're not required to disclose second characters to anyone outside of the mod team.
